Hi, I’m Jimmy Judge, owner and founder of Judge Venetian Plastering. I’ve been fascinated with polished plaster in all its forms since an early age.
I achieved my City & Guilds plastering qualification in 2007 and I am a certified polished plaster installer for BeriCalce. It has been my passion and my trade for over 14 years, providing bespoke residential and commercial Venetian plastering services throughout London and the South East to every type of business and domestic property imaginable.

We work with many variations of Venetian plaster, each with their own unique qualities and characteristics, for a limitless array of polished plaster finishes:
Marmorino
Marmorino plaster comes in fine, medium or large grains. The larger the grain, the less glossy the effect. Marmorino Fine is great for a polished gloss finish, with larger grained Marmorino used for a stony look. We can also produce a metallic finish by adding paraffin or beeswax with metal glitter or flakes such as silver or gold.
Travertino
Travertino is a larger grained plaster which is ideal for producing a dragged, pitted or textured Venetian plaster finish.
Grassello
Grassello is an extremely high gloss Venetian plaster. Made with lime putty, it has a tiny grain size and produces a breathtaking finish with a glass-like, mirror sheen.
Lime Concrete
Lime concrete is a fine-grained Venetian plaster made with a mixture of lime Marmorino & gypsum plaster and can be used to create a beautifully textured, matt concrete finish. The gypsum and resin binder also allows us to achieve a concrete look but polish to a high shine, to create a polished concrete finish.
Microcement
Microcement has similar properties to Marmorino but is a much stronger, cement-based product. Mixed with resin and hydraulic binders. it is waterproof, making it perfect for seamless floors, wet rooms and swimming pools. A polyurethane top sealant can also be added to enhance its waterproof, anti-scratch and anti-slip properties.
Glimmerputz
Glimmerputz is a type of Marmorino with additives, such as gold, copper or silver. We typically use it for walls, producing a classic, antique, stone-like finish. Depending on how we apply it, Glimmerputz can be smooth or textured, with glimmer characteristics (“Marmorino Glimmer”).
We can combine any of these in an infinite number of ways, with different additives, colourings and application techniques, to produce completely unique, entirely bespoke results:

Venetian Plaster Walls - Are They Easy To Clean?
Venetian plaster walls, unlike wallpapered walls, can be easily cleaned with a soft, damp cloth or mild soap. Avoid using strong chemicals or anything abrasive as these can damage the finish. Once clean, it is a good idea to dry the wall with another soft cloth.
Is All Venetian Plaster Polished or Glossy?
No – although the terms Venetian plaster and polished plaster are often used interchangeably, it doesn’t mean it has to have a polished look. Venetian plaster can also be applied with a matt, textured, dragged or pitted finish, without the need for a glossy appearance.
